Orlando Martin's journey began at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC), where he first honed his skills in the JBC TV library. There, he focused on dubbing and editing content while simultaneously learning to produce a weekly music video show. This early experience laid the foundation for his remarkable trajectory, which soon led him to Television Jamaica (TVJ).
At TVJ, Orlando Martin shone brightly as both an editor and the charismatic host of an entertainment show, showcasing his versatility and magnetic personality. Following his impactful tenure at TVJ, Orlando Martin moved to the Jamaica News Network (JNN) as a Technical Editor. There, he further solidified his reputation as a masterful storyteller, eventually stepping into the limelight as both editor and host of another popular entertainment program. His time at JNN enriched his insights and expertise in the entertainment industry, further preparing him for his next venture at the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ).
Among his many achievements, hosting the engaging one-hour show 'JamFlow' on PBCJ stands out. In this captivating program, he skillfully delved into the rich tapestries of music history, illuminating the fascinating tales behind some of reggae’s top music superstars, enriching viewers’ understanding of the industry’s vibrant narratives.
But Orlando Martin's story doesn't end with broadcasting. In a remarkable career shift, he has ventured into the healthcare and hospitality sectors, where he now channels his extensive broadcasting experience to educate and inspire others. Beyond his professional endeavours, it's noteworthy that while at TVJ, he joined the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Reserves and also pursued a career as a professional volleyball player, showcasing his commitment to service and sports.
