The day April 1, 1969, will forever be etched in Tony Patel's memory. It was the day that Wycliffe Bennett and Mrs Joyce Lalor converged to change the course of his life, nudging him into the esteemed role of Continuity Announcer at JBCTV. Little did Tony Patel know, this marked the beginning of an odyssey that would make him a household name, a media icon, and a legend in Jamaican broadcasting.

With such a prolific career, Tony Patel's journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He produced Jamaica's first radio call-in show, 'Public Eye,' and pioneered aerial broadcasting with his captivating 'Man in the Sky' morning broadcasts. His historic coverage of the funeral of Jamaica’s first Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Alexander Bustamante is considered the first aerial broadcast in the country's history.
As a renowned voice and a respected educator, Tony has spent his career engaging, informing, and entertaining audiences. He has shared his expertise in current affairs, and his insightful commentary has solidified his status as an influential media personality.
When not behind the microphone, Tony has also mentored aspiring media professionals and imparted his knowledge as a skilled, experienced Adjunct Lecturer. His expertise encompasses Voice & Speech Training and Customer Service Training, while his passion for storytelling and narration has made him a sought-after voice-over artist.
