A Dynamic Force in Jamaican Sports and Arts

Dahlia Harris is a dynamic Jamaican media personality whose creativity and passion shine across multiple disciplines, including acting, directing, and playwriting. Her remarkable journey took flight when she was crowned Miss Jamaica Festival Queen in 1990, a pivotal moment that set the stage for a career that would profoundly impact the entertainment industry.

With her vibrant voice and magnetic presence, Dahlia first made waves at Power 106 FM before moving to the Jamaica Gleaner Company Limited. She stepped into the spotlight at JBC Television in 1995, embarking on an illustrious career as a sportscaster. Proudly breaking barriers, she became the first woman in the Caribbean to serve as a senior producer for sports, solidifying her as a trailblazer in the field. Her impactful tenure at JBC and later at Television Jamaica (TVJ) earned her a place in the hearts of viewers nationwide.


As one of the anchors of 'TVJ Prime Time Sports,' she captivated audiences with her incisive coverage and expert analysis. In addition, her role as the host of 'Eye on Sports,' a thought-provoking discussion program featuring a panel of sporting experts, showcased her exceptional ability to engage viewers in meaningful conversations about contemporary sports issues. Dahlia's talents extend far beyond sports broadcasting. She has been a beloved host on 'Smile Jamaica,' TVJ's popular morning show, energising the airwaves with her infectious spirit on the afternoon radio program 'Too Live Crew' on RJR 94 FM.

A true champion of the arts, Dahlia has produced and starred in numerous plays and television shows, significantly contributing to the cultural tapestry of Jamaica. Her commitment to advancing theatre has earned her prestigious accolades, including the Bigga High Achievers Award and the Flair Magazine Distinguished Woman Award.


As the convenor of the Jamaica Women in Theatre Festival, she actively promotes and supports the voices of women in the performing arts. To add to her impressive portfolio, Dahlia is also a co-franchise holder of the Miss Jamaica World (MJW) beauty pageant, empowering young women and celebrating their achievements.
