Gillian Haughton is a distinguished news anchor, editor, and media executive with a remarkable career spanning over 30 years in Jamaican journalism. Her journey began at Radio Jamaica in 1987, where she took on pivotal roles, including radio news producer and news presenter, following which she moved to the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC), as news and current affairs editor for the television division. Known for her professionalism, Gillian became a trusted voice for the Jamaican public, delivering accurate and timely news while engaging viewers with her compelling storytelling.
Gillian continued to broaden her footprint in journalism, contributing to other media outlets, locally and overseas, serving as the Caribbean stringer for Voice of America. She entered the government service, serving the Ministry of National Security, as the Director of Public Affairs and Communication.
Her versatile skill set showcases her commitment to high-quality journalism, encompassing roles in reporting, editing, and producing. In addition to her media work, she held the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the American Chamber of Commerce of Jamaica (AMCHAM Jamaica).
