Athlete, Leader, and one of the Founding Fathers of Jamaica

This is a distinguished collection of medals won by Norman Washington Manley, testaments to his exceptional talent as a young athlete. In 1911, while attending Jamaica College, Norman achieved remarkable success at the Jamaica schoolboy championships, winning six medals, including a record time of 10 seconds in the 100 yards.

This record stood unbroken until 1952 and was so fast that it would have qualified him for Olympic finals in 1908 and 1912. His accomplishments on the track demonstrated his dedication and athletic prowess, qualities that would serve him well throughout his life.
