Born in the vibrant heart of Kingston, Susan Simes embarked on a journey that would lead her to become one of Jamaica's most beloved media personalities. With roots in the disciplined halls of Immaculate High School, Susan Simes' education laid the groundwork for an illustrious career that would ebb and flow through the channels of radio and television, ultimately making a lasting impact within the Jamaican media landscape.


The Radio Newsroom: Foundations of a Media Career

Ms. Simes' media journey began at The Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) Radio, where she honed her skills as a copywriter for the radio newscast. This formative experience not only sharpened her writing prowess but also instilled a deep understanding of the nuances of news dissemination—a skill that would serve her well in all later endeavours. At JBC, Susan learned the importance of accuracy, compassion, and connection in storytelling, principles that remain at the core of her work today.

Phase 3 Productions and TVJ: A Natural Transition

From JBC, Susan transitioned to Phase 3 Productions, where her presence and skills as a video editor helped to enhance the quality of creative content being produced by the company. Her journey didn’t stop there; she eventually joined Television Jamaica (TVJ) as a TV editor and later took centre stage as the host of the popular entertainment series, 'Hype Zone'. Here, Susan showcased her dynamic personality and deep understanding of the entertainment industry, further solidifying her role as a leading voice in Jamaican media.


Establishing Simber Media Group: A New Chapter

In May 2005, Susan took a monumental step in her career by launching her own company, Simber Media Group. This pivotal move marked not just a career shift but a new chapter in her life where she could fully harness her talent and creativity. Since 'The Susan Show' first aired on April 28, 2005, it has been a transformative platform for many. The show has provided a safe space for families to navigate hardships, giving voice to their challenges and encouraging them to reach out for help. 


A Commitment to Community: The Susan Simes Foundation

The overwhelming response to her giveaways sparked the creation of the Susan Simes Foundation, an initiative dedicated to uplifting underprivileged children by providing scholarships and educational opportunities. Funded by sponsorship donations and community events, the foundation stands as a testament to Susan's unwavering commitment to making a tangible difference. Through her efforts, she has not only inspired individuals to better their circumstances but has also fostered a sense of hope in the hearts of many.
